Chewk’s Cookies is a premium cookie company known for crafting high-quality, handcrafted cookies with the perfect balance of texture and flavor. Founded in 2019 by friends Hunter and Mike, Chewk’s grew from a school project into a thriving business, moving from dorm kitchens to a trailer, and finally opening their first brick-and-mortar store in Phoenix in August 2024. With years of recipe refinement, Chewk’s delivers soft, chewy cookies packed with rich ingredients, offering a top-tier dessert experience for special events, gifting, or personal indulgence.

Chewk’s contacted me during their transition from a trailer to a brick-and-mortar store, needing eye-catching packaging and printed collateral for their grand opening. They requested designs for an in-store menu, cookie sleeve packaging, a grand-opening poster, and an A-frame display for events and pop-ups. The solution was to create a set of cohesive, strategic print designs that would elevate their brand and generate excitement for the grand opening, ensuring a memorable visual experience for guests and passersby alike.

The process began by discussing Chewk’s values and personality with Hunter and Mike to understand their brand better. They emphasized simplicity and fun, so I conceptualized three cohesive cookie sleeve designs—two playful, featuring fun drawings, and one more simplistic with a bold checkered pattern. I continued the checkered motif for the in-store menu and grand opening poster, with a catchy tagline, "Phoenix’s new favorite sweet treat." For the A-frame sign, I kept it simple, using the brand's colors to create a clear and noticeable message for passersby.

This project focused on creating a cohesive visual experience for Chewk’s new storefront and trailer by aligning the brand’s image with its printed collateral. Through packaging, menus, and posters, Chewk’s grand opening weekend appeared professional, inviting, and intentional. The visual system attracted new customers and expanded their audience beyond the loyal college student base. Thanks to the impact of these printed assets, Chewk’s exceeded their foot traffic goals during the grand opening.
