Light Heart Coffee
Case Study
Light Heart Coffee is a specialty coffee shop in Scottsdale, Arizona, dedicated to crafting expertly brewed coffee from premium beans. With a deep passion for coffee culture, they strive to create a welcoming space that brings people together over quality coffee. Light Heart approached me to create a coffee bag design to hold their new house-made roast. The goal for this project was simple — create packaging that would complement their shop’s unique aesthetic, while drawing Light Heart’s customers to purchase their beans.
The founders of Light Heart, Caleb and Moriah, requested that I utilize gold foil in the final design to create visual interest. They also emphasized that they love a hand-drawn feel and that they wanted the design to be illustration-heavy. Knowing this information, I got to work on sketching a variety of illustrations that fit their shop’s vibe. We ended up choosing an illustration of a table with coffee and other things Light Heart carries resting on top of it. Over all, the design turned out exactly how Light Heart wanted — trendy, eye-catching, and simple.
